The perimeter of the quadrilateral is 12x -3

The formula that is used for calculating the perimeter of a trapezoid is expressed as;

P = a + b +c + d

Such that the parameters are;

  • P is the perimeter of the trapezoid
  • a , b, c and d are the lengths of the sides of the trapezoid

Now, substitute the values, we have;

Perimeter = (3x -2) + (2x) + (5x -2) + (2x + 1)

expand the bracket, we have;

Perimeter = 3x -2 + 2x + 5x -2 + 2x + 1

collect the like terms

Perimeter = 12x -3
