a submarine is 90 feet below sea level and then moves up 35 feet and then went back down 55 feet. what sea level is the submarine

Hi there!

The sea level is considered as zero (0).

Below sea level is considered as negative.

So :

90 feet below sea level = -90

moves up 35 feet = -90 + 35 = -55

went back down 55 feet = -55 - 55 = -110


Your answer is: The submarine is 110 feet below sea level.
