Answer:

7/3

Explanation:

2x - 3y = 6

when x =-1/2 we have

2(-1/2) - 3y = 6

3y = 6 + 2(1/2) = 7

y = 7/3 answer

Hi there!

In order to find the value of "y" when "x" is equal to -1/2, you need to replace the "x" in your equation with it's value (which is -1/2) and then solve the equation by isolating "y" :

2 (-1/2) - 3y = 6

Add 3y to each side of the equation

2(-1/2) = 6 + 3y

Subtract 6 from each side of the equation

2(-1/2) - 6 = 3y

-1 - 6 = 3y

-7 = 3y

Divide each side of the equation by 3

-7/3 = y

There you go! I really hope this helped, if there's anything just let me know! :)
