f(x) = 3-2x

g(x) = 1/x+5

Find (f/g)(8)

First replace x with 8 in each equation and solve them:

f(x) = 3-2x

f(8) = 3-2(8) =

3-16 = -13

g(x) = 1/x+5

g(8) = 1/8+5 =

g(8) = 1/13

Now f/g becomes -13 / 1/13 which equals -169
