Answer:

4 1/6 or 25/6

Explanation:

1. add whole numbers

0+3=3

2. find least common multiple of fractions

6

3. make the denominators 6 by multiplying. whatever you do to the bottom, you must do to the top.

2/3 = 4/6 (multiply by 2)

1/2 = 3/6 (multiply by 3)

4. add fractions

4/6 + 3/6 = 7/6

(you add the numerators, the denominators are the same so leave them)

5. 1 1/6 = 7/6

6. 3/1 + 7/6 = 25/6 or 4 1/6

for the second one:

answer = 5/24

1. a/b ÷ c/d = a/b × d/c

2. 5/6 × 1/4

3. multiply straight across

ie. 5×1=5

6×4=24

for the second question (5/6)/(4) is the same as (5/6)*(1/4) so just multiply across and you get (5/24)
