Welp to solve this for y we need to first get the x out of the road by relocating it to the right

6y=12-x

Now we divide by 6 both sides

y=(12-x)/(6)

, which is our answer

hope it helps have a great time learning!

x + 6y = 12 \\ \\ \longrightarrow \: 6y = 12 - x \\ \\ \longrightarrow \: y = (12 - x)/(6)

hope helpful :-;
