you need to find the slope of the line too. they use m to represent slope.

m = ((y2 - y1))/(x2 - x1) = ( - 2 - 2)/( - 2 - 2) = ( - 4)/( - 4) = (1)/(1)
point slope equation is y - y1 = m(x -x1)
they said to use point (-2, -2)
y -(-2) = 1(x -(-2))
y +2 = 1(x +2)
