(im gonna use x as a variable for all of these problems)

first to find how much each square foot costs subtract 80 from the total first

287 - 80 = 207

then divide $207 between 60 square feet

207 / 60 = $3.45

so each square foot is $3.45

our equation to find the cost would be

y = 3.45x + 80

first lets find out how much the scarves are

5 x 12 = $60

then subtract that from the total

125 - 60 = $65

for 5 sister to each have 2 pairs of socks that means theres 10 pairs of socks

divide ypur rmaining money by the 10 pairs

65 / 10 = $6.50

so each pair of socks is $6.50

first lets make an equation for the ymca costs

y = 15x + 20

then plug in 185 for y

185 = 15x + 20

solve for x

165 = 15x

11 = x

hes prepaid for 11 months
