We are given lengths of sides of the rectangle = 4:7.

Longer side is 31.5 inches.

Let us assume width be x.

Setting proportion, we get

(x)/(31.5) =(4)/(7)

On cross multiplication, we get

7x = 31.5 × 4

7x = 126.

Dividing both sides by 7, we get

7x/7 = 126/7

x = 18.

Therefore, width = 18 inches.

Perimeter = 2( length + width) = 2(31.5+18) = 2 (49.5) = 99 inches.

Area = Length × Width = 31.5 × 18 = 567 square inches.
