Mixed number is just saying 3(denominator) times 1 (whole #) plus 2(numerator) which would equal 5 its like a cartwheel :)

Answer:

The perimeter is 6 2/3 feet, and the area is 2 7/9 feet.

Explanation:

Since it is a square, the perimeter would by four times the length, 1 2/3 feet.

1 2/3 = 5/3

5/3 * 4 = 5/3 * 4/1

5/3 * 4/1 = 20/3

The perimeter of the garden is 20/3 or 6 2/3 feet.

To find the area, multiple the length by itself.

5/3 * 5/3 = (5 * 5)/(3 * 3)

(5 * 5)/(3 * 3) = 25/9

The area of the garden is 25/9 or 2 7/9 feet.
