You have R=unknown, something for which to solve;

T(total)=5 1/4 hours

D(distance) =350 miles.

Keep your calculations in miles per hour.

Distance ÷ Time

350 ÷ 5 1/4 (need to make the whole number a fraction and need to make mixed number a fraction)

350/1 ÷ 21/4=

350/1 × 4/21= 1400/ 21= 66 2/3

Answer:

66.666 mph or 66.67

Explanation:

First I would change 1/4 to .25 so the equation would look like this.

350/ 5.25 = 66.666 Continues so you could round it to the nearest hundredth.
