the distance bettween two points is given by the formula ⊕

x= (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) ⇒x= (5-(-4))/(-3-5)= 9/-8 = - 1.125 it means that the distance between the points is 1.125

Answer:

use the distance formula

Explanation:

d = sqrt [( x2 -x1) ^2 + (y2-y1)^2 ]

Let x1 = -3 and x2 = 0, and y1 = -4 and y2 = 0

therefore:

d = sqrt [ (0- (-3)]^2 + (0-(-4)]^2]

d = sqrt [ (0 +3)^2 + (0 + 4) ^2]

d = sqrt [(3)^2 + (4)^2]

d = sqrt [9 + 16]

d = sqrt [25]

d = 5
