uhammad, a shipping and receiving clerk, uses 1 yard, 2 feet, 4 inches of twine to wrap each carton he packs. He has to pack 29 cartons today. How much twine will he need? Convert the answer to larger units whenever possible.

As we know that


1\ yard=3\ feet

And


1\ feet=12\ inches

So, we have


3\ feet+2\ feet+12\ inches\\\\=5\ feet+12\ inches\\\\=5* 12+12\ inches\\\\=60+12\ inches\\\\=72\ inches

Number of cartons he has to pack = 29

Now, length of twine he will needed for 29 cartons is given by


72* 29=2088\ inches

As we need to change it into larger units i.e. yards

So,


2088\ inches=58\ yards

Hence, 58 yards of twine is needed to wrap 29 cartons .
