By age 2 or 3, children begin to learn about gender roles based on their culture's beliefs of what roles are predominantly linked to women and which are linked to men. This learning process also increases the emphasis on gender-role differentiation, as the child will start to learn, and therefore believe that men and woman are differentiate from each other based on their genders. Men will be linked to specific jobs, actions and emotions, while women will be linked with other jobs, actions or emotions.
