Speed of the bird that can fly in the air is given as

v_1 = 20 m/s

now if bird will encounter headwind from its opposite direction

v_2 = 5 m/s

now here we can say that due to headwind net velocity of the bird will decrease because here headwind will blow in opposite direction

so here as per vector addition of two velocity we can say that net velocity of the bird is given as

v_(net) = v_1 - v_2

v_(net) = 20 - 5

v_(net) = 15 m/s

so here net velocity of the bird will be 15 m/s
