Energy that is produced from the heat of the earth’s interior is called Geothermal energy.

The word geothermal originated from the Greek word geo, which means earth, and therme which means hot or heat. Since heat is continuously produced inside the earth, geothermal energy is therefore a renewable energy source.

Answer:

The energy that is produced from the heat of the Earth’s interior is called Geothermal energy.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • The energy that is naturally generated in the interiors of the Earth due to its structure and the reactions taking place deep inside the Earth's interiors is known as Geothermal energy.
  • It majorly exists in the form of heat. This heat is either the 'Primordial Heat' that is leftover from the reactions that took place during the formation of the Earth or is the 'Radiogenic Heat' produced by the combustion of radioactive isotopes present in the "interiors of the Earth".
