Parallelisms between the Five-Year Plan and the book Animal Farm:
- Napoleon (the pig) represented Joseph Stalin.
- Joseph Stalin created a Five Year Plan to improve the Soviet Union's productivity of the country. This plan had a tendency to fail (as did his other four Five-years Plan). In the Animal Farm book, animals pretended to build a second windmill when the first was destroyed.
- People (ordinary citizens) were disillusioned with Joseph Stalin's Five-year Plan, as Boxer (the horse in Animal Farm) was with what they were fighting for.
