Industrialization in Europe pushed the population to grow and demand more goods since the speed of production increase. With that, more and more raw materials were needed. European countries decided to explore other countries to look for more raw materials that could help them increase production more and more.

2. What was one reason that Europeans offered for their imperial policies?

A. the belief that they had a superior culture and religion

Once the European power reached new lands they wanted to explore they faced people they never knew, that had different religions and different customs than the European customs. With that, they applied their imperial policies, they demanded Natives to convert to Christianism and some of them were enslaved. All of these methods and policies were based on the fact that Europeans believed they were superior to others.

B. to open Chinese ports to trade

European countries still needed more and more raw materials for their industrial demands. China was an endless place for raw materials. But until that moment, China maintained the Canton system of trade. This system consisted of the limit of trade which did not match the needs of the European nations. With that, Europeans managed to end the Canton system and open its ports.

Many Latin American Wars of Independence took place during the 18th and early 19th centuries. Most of them were influenced by the American and French Revolution that were at the end inspired by Enlightenment.
