Importantly, Durkheim emphasized that human beings, unlike other animal species that live according to their society, have no internal mechanism to signal when their needs and desires are satiated.

For him, the human behavior is derivated of society desire. But it not an obligatory relationship between peoples and society. It´s the way things were organized even before the people´s desires can be manifested.
