1. you would divide the distance (204m) by the time it took (3h).

204 ÷ 3 = 68mph

each hour she would drive 68 miles (3 hours to reach 204 miles).

2. essentially the same thing. it takes $16.80 for 4 gallons (which you divide).

$16.80 ÷ 4 = $4.2

4.2 fits into 16.80 4 times.

3. this is a bit more trickier. there is 60 minutes in an hour. 20 can fit into 60, 3 times. then you times 5 by 3.

60 ÷ 20 = 3.
5 × 3 = 15

4.
a. 5 lemons cost $1.80. to find out a single lemon you divide $1.80 by 5 to see how much 1 is.

1.80 ÷ 5 = $0.36

b. you take the single amount to see how many lemons are 9.

$0.36 × 9 = $3.24

multiplying is literally just 0.36 + 0.36 + 0.36 + 0.36 + 0.36 + 0.36 + 0.36 + 0.36 + 0.36
