In a 30°- 60°- 90° right triangle, the longer leg is 4 times the square root of 3 cm. How long are the other two sides of the triangle?

Answer:

If by longer leg, you mean the LONGEST LEG = 4 * sq root (3)

the other 2 sides = .5 * (4 * sq root (3)) = 2 * sq root (3) AND

(sq root (3) / 2) * 4 * sq root (3) = 3 * 4 / 2 = 6

hypotenuse = 8 cm


Explanation

The longer leg should be opposite to 60°.

∴ tan 60° = (4√3)/short leg

short leg = (4√3)/tan60°

= (4√3)/1.732

= 4

To get the hypotenuse;

sin 60° = (4√3)/hypotenuse

hypotenuse = (4√3)/sin 60°

= (4√3)/0.8660

= 8
