3x-1/2 - 2(4+3x)/13 = 2

distribute

3x -1/2 -8/13 -6x/13 =2

combine like terms

3x-6x/13 -1/2 -8/13 =2

multiply by 26 to get rid of the fractions (2*13)

26*(3x-6x/13 -1/2 -8/13) =2*26

78x - 12x -13 -16 = 52

66x -29 =52

add 29 to each side

66x =81

x = 81/66

divide top and bottom by 3

x=27/22

x = 1 5/22
