The formula of a distance between two points:

d=√((x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2)

We have the points (-2, 1) and (4, -3). Substitute:

d=√((4-(-2))^2+(-3-1)^2)=√(6^2+(-4)^2)=√(36+16)\\\\=√(52)=√(4\cdot13)=\sqrt4\cdot√(13)=2√(13)

Answer:
2√(13)

Used:
√(ab)=√(a)\cdot√(b)
