PLEASE HEL[PPPPP!!!!!!!

Jim weighs 34 pounds more than Mark. Together they weigh 242 pounds. How much does each of them weigh?

Jim weighs 155pounds and Mark weighs 87 pounds. Don't listen to me I am wrong I believe. I just don't know how to delete the answer.

Let Mark's weight = M

The Jim's weight = M + 34

The combined weight is M + M + 34

The combined weight is 242 b, so

M + M + 34 = 242

2M + 34 = 242

2M = 208

M = 104

Mark weighs 104 lb.

M + 34 = 104 + 34 = 138

Jim weighs 138 lb.
