The rehabilitation act of 1973 secured an equal playing field for the disabled one. It prohibited discrimination based on disability and ensured a wide range of services for physically and cognitively disabled ones. These disabilities can become a barrier to their employment and independent living and inclusion in society. It has been amended twice (1993,1998). It has four sections. As per the acting person with a disability can apply for various Federal programs and also in the programs conducted by federal financial assistance.
