The graph shows how much money Dante earns for different numbers of hours worked

What is the slope of the line and what does it mean in this situation?

The slope is 10. This means that Dante earns $10 each hour.

The slope is 10.25. This means that Dante earns $10.25 each hour.

The slope is 10.75. This means that Dante earns $10.75 each hour.

The slope is 12. This means that Dante earns $12 each hour.

Answer: The slope is 10.25. This means that Dante earns $10.25 each hour.

Explanation:

We know that the slope of a line passing through (a,b) and (c,d) is given by :-

m=(d-b)/(c-a)

In the given graph , the graph is passing through (4, 41) and (7, 71.75) is given by :-

m=(71.75-41)/(7-4)\\\\=(30.75)/(3)\\\\=10.25

Thus , the slope of the line = 10.25

Also, we know that the slope of line tells the the rate of change of y (dependent variable ) with respect to x ( independent variable) .

Here , independent variable = Time (hr)

Dependent variable = Money ($)

Thus , the slope of the given line tells that Dante earns $10.25 each hour.
