Carbohydrate
Cells in a person's body obtain glucose from the digestion of carbohydrate.
Carbohydrates are macronutrients that serve as the body's main source of energy. Carbohydrates are composed of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen molecules. Carbohydrate is broken down in the body to create glucose which is used by the muscles, brain and other important cells. Carbohydrates include; simple carbohydrates (such as table sugar and high-fructose corn syrup), and complex carbohydrates (starches such as wheat, rice, yam, bread, pasta, and potatoes).
