This is a very popular and controversal topic. We are witnessing the conversion of different cultures among the younger population the most. One of the main reasons for this occurence is the developement of media and modern technologies. We can see the revival and modernization of folk cultures, for example in Spain, Russia and other countries. Folk culture is based on traditional beliefs and the preservence of old values that have stood the test of time. The question is, can that survive in a modern age of 'shaing' and 'redefining'. For example, Japan is a mono culture that is trying to preserve its traditions, but at the same time it can not help being influenced by other cultures. Local media through language are trying to preseve local customs, but they are fighting against the other modern sources of information that are global and universal.
