The fish population of Lake Oconee is decreasing at a rate of 3% per year. In 2014 there were about 1300 fish. Write an exponential decay function to model this situation. Then find the population in 2020.

Answer:

f(x)=1300(.97)^(x)

in 2020 there will be about 1082.86 fish

Explanation:

1300 is what you start with

100-3=97% So each year you have 97% of the previous year left.

raised to the number of years since 2014...

so 2020 is 6 years from 2014..

f(x)=1300(.97)^(6)

f(x)= 1082.86
