The slope-intercept form: y = mx + b

m - slope

b - y-intercept

We have -1/2(x + 4) = y - 2 use distributive property

(-1/2)(x) + (-1/2)(4) = y - 2

-1/2 x - 2 = y - 2 add 2 to both sides

-1/2 x = y → y = -1/2 x + 0

slope: m = -1/2

y-intercept: b = 0

x-intercept for y = 0. Substitute:

-1/2 x = 0 multiply both sides by -2

x = 0

Answer:

slope = -1/2

y-intercept = 0

x-intercept = 0

--------------------------------------------------------------------

2x - y = 4 sutract 2x from both sides

-y = -2x + 4 change the signs

y = -2x + 4

slope: m = -2

y-intercept: b = 4

x-intercept for y = 0. Substitute:

-2x + 4 = 0 subtract 4 from both sides

-2x = -4 divide both sides by -2

x = 2

Answer:

slope = -2

y-intercept = 4

x-intercept = 2
