False.

But the colonists had no representation in the British Parliament. To tax them without offering representation was to deny their traditional rights as English subjects. ... The Stamp Act of 1765 was not the first attempt to tax the American colonies. Parliament had passed the Sugar Act and Currency Act the previous year.

It is false, with the caveat that some American colonists remained loyal to the Crown and were willing to be ruled from afar by a Supreme Monarch.

The Stamp Act was largely unpopular in the Colonies as it raised the cost of items in a variety of manners. The Colonists, feeling as if they were not being heard in Parliament, felt that this raise in taxation was uncalled for, despite Great Britain having just paid for a War in the Colonies (The 7-Year War).
