I believe the answer is 48 and I'll explain why...
so I made the problem....
-1/3s -1/3s -1/3s = 16 then combine like terms...
-3/3s = 16 now multiply each by -3...
-3s = -48 now divide by 3....
S = 16
so it's safe to say he started with 48$...hope it was some good stuff he bought.
