In three to four sentences, describe the negative effects multiculturalism has had on modern-day Egypt.

When people come to Egypt they bring their culture with them. This can be good to have more culture and a larger population. But when more and more culture is brought to Egypt the original culture of the native of Egypt is drown out by all the other cultures brought to Egypt.

The main negative effect is religious strife. The Copts are 10% of the population and they suffer constant persecution and discrimination due to their different religion and language. There are also linguistic and cultural tensions since there are also some Berber minorities whose heritage is not acknowledge or respected by the majority of the Arabic population. Finally there is a good amount of racism. Nubians, who are typically black are also discriminated against and are virtually unexistent from mainstream media.
