It's a parallelogram and a triangle.

The formula of an area of a It's a parallelogram:

A_P=bh

b - base, h - height

We have: b = 8 ft and h = 5ft. Substitute:

A_P=(8)(5)=40\ ft^2

The formula of an area of a tringle:

A_T=(bh)/(2)

b - base, h - height

We have: b = 10 ft and h = 5 ft. Substitute:

A_T=(10\cdot5)/(2)=(50)/(2)=25\ ft^2

The area of the figure:

A=A_P+A_T\to A=40+25=65\ ft^2
