The value of x is equal to -4.

-5 + 5x = -(1 - 6x)

Distribute -1 to each term inside the parentheses.

-5 + 5x = -1 + 6x

Subtract 5x from both sides.

-5 = -1 + x

Add 1 to both sides.

-4 = x
