For this case we have a function of the form:

y = f (x)

Where
f (x) = 3x + 4

If we have the value of
x = -2, substituting we have:

f (-2) = 3 (-2) +4

We solve the multiplication taking into account that + * - = - and
3 * 2 = 6

f (-2) = - 6 + 4

It is known that different signs are subtracted and the sign of the major is placed.

f (-2) = - 2

Thus,
f (x) = 3x + 4 evaluated at
x = -2is:
f (-2) = - 2

Answer:

f (-2) = - 2
