Consider the extended metaphor of the caged bird. Then, choose the figurative meaning of each quotation from the poem.

“But a bird that stalks / down his narrow cage / can seldom see through / his bars of rage”

“The caged bird sings / with a fearful trill / of things unknown / but longed for still”

The first one is B: "The caged bird is so angry about his lack of freedom that it is all he can think about"

The second one is C: "The caged bird desires freedom, even though he has never experienced it"

Hope this helps :)

Black African American people were not given as many opportunities as given to white Americans.Black Americans used to feel as if they were kept in a cage and they used to feel very angry from inside.

the caged Black African American people wanted to do normal jobs like whites but were not allowed to do so just like a caged bird which sings but is fearful that she does not know what her future might be like.
