In a parallel circuit, the supply voltage is 120 V, 60 Hz. The resistance is 30 Ω and the inductive reactance is 40 Ω. What is the value of the inductor?

Given : supply voltage = 120V;60 Hz

Inductive Reactance
(X_(L)) = 40 Ω

The inductive reactance is given by the formula,
X_(L)=Lw, where L is inductance and
w is given by formula,
w = 2\pi(frequency)

Apply this, we can say that,
L = (X_(L))/(2\pi (frequency))  = (40)/(2(3.14)(60)) = 0.106157 H = 106.157 mH
