How do you determine the number of electrons of a neutral atom

If the atom is neutral, then it has as many electrons in its cloud as protons in its nucleus.

And THAT number is the same as the Atomic Number of the element.

Like Hydrogen is #1, Oxygen is #8, Silicon is #14, and Uranium is #92 .

The number of electrons in a neutral atom is equal to the number of protons.
