30 miles/hr= 30 miles/ 60 min = 1 mile/ 2 min
24÷2= 12
12x1= 12
4x30= 120
120+12= 132
Ans: He traveled 132 miles.

Answer: He travelled 132 miles

Explanation:

First we have to express 4 hours and 24 minutes in hours:

If 60 minutes =1 hour

We have to divide 24 minutes by 60 to obtain the equivalent of 24 minutes in hours.

24/60= 0.4 hours

4 hours + 0.4 hours = 4.4 hours

So:

  • Time: 4.4 hours
  • Velocity: 30 miles per hour

If we apply the formula:

Distance = velocity x time

Replacing with the values given

d = 30 x 4.4 = 132 miles
