y = x^2 - 6x + 4

Explanation:

The equation of a parabola in "standard form" is y = ax^ 2 + bx + c.

Expanding y = (x-3)^2 -5, we get y = x^2 - 6x + 9 - 5, or y = 1x^2 - 6x + 4. y = x^2 - 6x + 4 would be an adequate answer also.
