Remainder theorem says that if f(x) is divided by the linear polynomial (x-a) , then remainder is f(a)

In given question , f(x) = x³ + 5x² -7x

linear polynomial is (x+4) = (x - (-4) )

so from remainder theorem , remainder = f(-4) = (-4)³ + 5 ( -4)² - 7(-4)

= -64 + 80+28=44

Hence Remainder is 44.
