Jefferson, who had served as foreign minister to France, believed that the United States should help the French in their revolution again the tyrannical King Louis. He believed that we should support the efforts of French citizens whose cause was similar to ours.

Hamilton, who was a monarchist, say the French Revolution as a threat. He believed that the United States should stay as far away from the French cause as possible because it would cause Britain to stop trade with the united states.

Halminton believed the United States should stay away from the french becuase it could cause britain to stop trading with the US
