The turnout for a game is expected to reach 70,000 fans, of which 60 percent are expected to drive. An Average of 2 fans come in each vehicle. There is parking for only 9,000 vehicles at the stadium; therefore, satellite parking will be needed. If each statellite lot can accommodate 1,500 vehicles, how many satellite lots will be needed?

Answer: Eight satellite lots will be needed to accomodate all the vehicles.

Expected turnout for the game 70,000 fans

Proportion of people expected to drive 60%

Number of people expected to arrive by car:
70000*0.6 = 42,000

Number of people per vehicle 2

Expected number of cars
(42000)/(2) = 21000

Number of car parks in the stadium 9000

Number of additional car parks required
21,000-9,000 = 12,000

Number of car parking per satellite lot 1500

Number of satellite lots required
(12000)/(1500)= 8
