Answer: There are 4 groups of pencils , 5 groups of erasers , 8 groups of paper clips.

Explanation:

Since we have given that

Number of pencils = 20

Number of erasers = 25

Number of paper clips = 40

Now, we want to organize them into groups with the same number of items in each group and all the items in a group will be the same type.

Since, the common factor of 20,25,40 is 5 only.

So, Number of items in each group is given by

\text{ Number of pencils in each group}=(20)/(5)=4\\\\\text{ Number of erasers in each group }=(25)/(5)=5\\\\\text{ Number of paper clips in each group}=(40)/(5)=8

Hence ,

There are 4 groups of pencils , 5 groups of erasers , 8 groups of paper clips.
