if you have 4/9, then you want to get x to equal 1 to get x= a number
4/9x1=4/9(too small)
4/9x2=8/9(too small)
4/9x3=12/9 or 1 1/3(too big)
so since x2 I too small and x3 I too big, you find a number between the two. you already have 4/9x2=8/9, and you only need 1/9 more to make 1. since 1/4 of 4/9 is 1/9, you need to add 1/4 to x2 to make it 2.25
4/9x2.25=1
now you have x=1x2.25 which gives you
