slope =
(1)/(4)

to calculate the slope m use the gradient formula

m = (y₂ - y₁ ) / (x₂ - x₁ )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (8, 8 ) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (- 4, 5 ) ← 2 poinys on the line

m =
(5-8)/(-4-8) =
(-3)/(-12) =
(1)/(4)
