Well the poison be poured into that person's ear is to mislead them into doing wrong, or to do things that were against there better judgment, which is exactly what happened to Eve in The Garden of Eden. The snake (aka the Devil) talked to Eve about The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
