Female Orations is a book by Margaret Cavendish, Duchess of Newcastle. The book describes an imaginary debate among women, and touches on the topics of family, religion, romance and the maintenance of the household. It criticizes many of the limitations of women in society and it is one of very few books by female authors of the time period.
In this book, the first orator claims that women "die like worms." This statements highlights the idea that women at the time were considered to be extremely unimportant.
