Explanation:

D=dimes

D-6=quarters

0.10 D + 0.25(D-6) = 1.65

0.10D + 0.25D - 1.5 = 1.65

0.35D = 3.15

Dibide both sides by 0.35

D =9

Q= D-6 Q = 9-6 Q=3

9*0.10 =90 3*0.25= 0.75

$0.75 + $0.90 =$ 1.65
